Who is the Cavern Tour for?
This trip is ideal for any diver who has at least an Open Water Diver certification and at least 20 dives. With a qualified guide, you can safely explore cavernous zones – parts of cave systems that are still within reach of daylight.
What are cavern dives?
Caverns are unique underwater spaces that:
• Are located within a maximum distance of 60 meters from the open surface.
• Enable rapid resurfacing if necessary.
• Are spacious, with visibility enhanced by natural light.
Each dive is conducted with a certified cave diver as a guide. For maximum safety, one guide accompanies a maximum of 4 divers.
Diving progress
• Location: Cave systems near Playa del Carmen, 15-45 minutes drive away.
• Dive: Each of the two dives takes place in a different location, giving you a diverse experience.
• Facilities: Thanks to the cenote owners’ renovation, you will find comfortable stone access platforms, steps into the water, toilets and tables for preparing equipment.
Dive and break length
Each dive lasts 40-50 minutes. Between dives we will take a short rest, change tanks and do a detailed briefing for the next dive. Discover the hidden beauties of cavern diving and experience the underwater world of the Yucatan like never before!
